Statues
I fell in love with all the beautiful statues on our first day in Europe. To me, the statues told such beautiful stories. While I knew we would see the statue, David, I had no idea the other famous statues I would see- The Thinker, Venus, The Winged Victory, The Gates of Hell, and many others. The amount of work and craftsmanship in each piece was simply amazing. My favorite overall statue was David. The picture here is a small replication that sits outside the entrance to the real statue. However, no pictures were allowed once inside. I have to admit, for someone who talk a lot, the David made me absolutely speechless. He was so majestic, so grand.
During our free time in Paris, we made sure we went to the Muse de Rodin. Aside from The Thinker, I knew very little of Rodin. Before we left the museum, I purchased a book showing his full works. Wow! His statues tell such stories. The museum included an area that was off limits to cameras, I found this quite unfortunate because these works were my favorite pieces. White marble, carved smooth, telling tales of love..

Paintings
We saw many gorgeous paintings throughout our tour. The most famous being, The Mona Lisa and the Sistine Chapel. While the Mona Lisa was neither as large nor as grand as I had imagined, The Sistine Chapel was breathtaking.. which was good because we weren't allowed to talk in there! Without a tour guide at the Louvre I would never have understood the paintings they way they were intended. Unlike the statues, the paintings didn't talk to me as well. The paintings were very beautiful, some very colorful, others very dark and gim. My favorite paintings were the works by Monet.
Architecture
I feel compelled to include many of the buildings under the ART tab. These beautiful buildings were all such amazing piece of art themselves. The statues carved into the walls, the ornate details that lack from the buildings of today. The details were not only on the exterior surface, but on the inside as well. The ceiling and floor were also very ornate. It would be nearly impossible for me to include all the pictures I took of the buildings, but hopefully, I can add enough to gain your appreciation.
